Fashion Design is one of the most lucrative, appealing, glamorous and exciting career options in today's world, if you have a penchant for creativity, style and originality. On one hand, the fashion industry satisfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other, it promises glamour, fame, success and a high pay package to talented individuals.

The degree level of study of Fashion Design incorporates teaching innovative and creative design of apparel, skills in producing pattern and prototype garments, knowledge of textile material, market and trend analysis, and the means of developing the ability to position fashion products in the marketplace.

Focusing on the aforesaid objectives, the Jaymin School of Fashion Design and Technology (JFDT) began its first academic session in the academic year 2015-16, as a part of the Faculty of Design Planning and Architecture (FDPA) under the aegis of the Uka Tarsadia University.

The Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design & Technology) [B.Des. (F.D.T.)] programme offered at JFDT at the undergraduate level of study aims to impart both a theoretical as well as a practical outlook in Fashion Design and Fashion Technology, with a healthy focus on the fashion industry and contemporary practices through a well-structured and organized curriculum at par with highly ranked institutes in the country. "In society today, Fashion Design has move forward from a niche ideology of standardized, mass-manufactured 'apparel-for-all' to a much recognized and desired customization for individuals. This has led us to a significant goal for the School - to inculcate innovative and observant Fashion Designers with a lucid understanding of and healthy respect for various ethnicities and personal & societal ambitions."
